The final report from the first Summer School of Telecommunications Educational Seminars aimed at lighting and optical systems held in Ostrava from 12th to 14th of June 2013.
The first Summer School of Telecommunications Educational Seminar supported by the project "Development of Excellence of the Telecommunication Research Team in Relation to International Cooperation - CZ.1.07/2.3.00/20.0217" was held for three days at the Department of Telecommunications in Ostrava.
The opening day of seminar the lectures were focused on design of automotive lighting and modern optical sensors. First lecture was given by RNDr. Dr. Popelek from FLTC-FITORE LARGE Company and the second lecture introduced Prof. Vašinek. from VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava.
During the second day participants had chance to get knowledge about high power lasers utilization and micro-structured optical fibers. Lecture aimed on high power lasers utilization presented the first lecturer, Ing. Švábek from Institute of Physics of the ASCR, v. v. i. Following lecturer was Ing. Vanda, Ph.D. also from the Institute of Physics of the ASCR, v. v. i. He performed lecture devoted to modification of micro-structured optical fibers by liquids. The third lecture was focused on utilization of micro-structural fibers as well, but this time for purposes of dispersion compensation. This lecture was given by Ing. Lucki, Ph.D. from the Czech Technical University in Prague.
The third day of seminar participants had chance to listen five lectures aimed on problems connected with dispersions in optical fibers. The lecturers were Ing. Brouček, CSc., Ing Beran both from PROFiber Networking CZ company, Bc. Biernátová from SITEL company and Prof. Vašinek. from VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava.
Thanks to all carried out lectures the students had opportunity to take a closer look into the various problems in the field of optical fiber dispersion, optical sensors, micro-structured fibers, high power lasers or automotive lighting.
Presentations from each day is contained in separete articles below.
